Questions parents ask
What is a mock day?
2 timed CEM-style-style papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Your child sits them at home, online or on paper, at any time in the sitting's exam window (usually Saturday morning to Sunday evening), so you can split them across the weekend. That's about 1.4 hours of papers in all.
Who is the mock season for?
Children starting secondary school in September 2028, who sit the 11+ in Year 6 (most tests are in September 2027). The season runs through their Year 5, with a mock day each term and in the summer holiday before the tests, so you can see how your child is getting on through the year.
Do the papers have to be sat on the same day?
No. Each paper can be started at any time while the exam window is open, and is sat in one go once started (the timer doesn't stop). Many families do two papers on Saturday and two on Sunday. An online paper ends when the window closes, so start each one at least its full time before then.
Are the questions different each time?
Yes. No question is used twice in the season's papers, so a child who sits every mock day never sees the same question again.
How much does it cost?
Mock days marked Free cost nothing: every paper is free with a free parent account. Details of later mock days, including prices, will be announced soon.
When do results come out?
On the results day shown for each sitting, usually a week after the exam window closes. We email you when they're ready. Like the real 11+, results aren't shown straight after each paper.
What does the report show?
A score report for each paper, with how your child did in each topic and every question marked; a certificate; an estimated standardised score; and, once at least 20 children have sat the same paper, where your child stands among them. If you've chosen a target school, the report shows how close your child is to the target.
