What's in a mock day

The CEM-style papers at their usual size and timing. Your child can start each paper at any time in the window.

  • On paper: print the papers and answer sheets, then upload a photo to be marked.

Book the day and save

£24.99 the day, per child

or £7.99 a paper.

  • Early-bird prices when you book before each sitting's early-bird date.
  • 10% off when you book two or more children together.
  • Premium members get a discount on single papers (the day is already priced as a saving).

Each sitting's page shows its own prices and offers before you pay.

How a mock day works

  1. Step 1: Book the day

Book all four papers in one go (or single papers) for each child. Choose online or on paper.

  2. Step 2: Sit at home

Any time in the weekend window. Many families do two papers on Saturday and two on Sunday.

  3. Step 3: Timed like the real test

Each paper runs to the board's timing once started, and the clock doesn't stop, just like exam day.

  4. Step 4: Results day

Results come out on the results day shown, usually a week after the window closes. We email you.

What you get after each sitting

  • A score report for each paper

How your child did in each topic, with every question marked, so you know what to work on before the next sitting.

  • An estimated standardised score

Like the scores the 11+ uses, with an allowance for age. Once at least 20 children have sat the same paper, you also see where your child stands among them.

  • Your target school

If you've chosen a target school, the report shows how close your child is to the target.

  • A certificate

A certificate for each paper to print or keep, whatever the score.

  • Progress through Year 5

Sit each term and see the scores change. No question is used twice in the season, so every paper is new.

Year 6 children

This season is for Year 5. Most 11+ tests for 2027 entry were sat in September 2026. Some schools test later in Year 6, so if your child still has a test to come, see the other mock exams.

All mock exams

Mock season: questions parents ask

What is a mock day?

2 timed CEM-style-style papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Your child sits them at home, online or on paper, at any time in the sitting's exam window (usually Saturday morning to Sunday evening), so you can split them across the weekend. That's about 1.4 hours of papers in all.

Who is the mock season for?

Children starting secondary school in September 2028, who sit the 11+ in Year 6 (most tests are in September 2027). The season runs through their Year 5, with a mock day each term and in the summer holiday before the tests, so you can see how your child is getting on through the year.

Do the papers have to be sat on the same day?

No. Each paper can be started at any time while the exam window is open, and is sat in one go once started (the timer doesn't stop). Many families do two papers on Saturday and two on Sunday. An online paper ends when the window closes, so start each one at least its full time before then.

Are the questions different each time?

Yes. No question is used twice in the season's papers, so a child who sits every mock day never sees the same question again.

How much does it cost?

£24.99 per child for the whole day, or £7.99 a paper, so booking the day saves £6.97 against booking the four papers separately. Each sitting's page shows its own price. Book before the early-bird date for a lower price, and get 10% off when you book two or more children together. Premium members get a discount on single papers (each paper shows how much); the day is already priced as a saving, so the Premium discount doesn't apply to it.

When do results come out?

On the results day shown for each sitting, usually a week after the exam window closes. We email you when they're ready. Like the real 11+, results aren't shown straight after each paper.

What does the report show?

A score report for each paper, with how your child did in each topic and every question marked; a certificate; an estimated standardised score; and, once at least 20 children have sat the same paper, where your child stands among them. If you've chosen a target school, the report shows how close your child is to the target.

Can my child sit it on paper?

Yes. When you book, choose online or on paper for each child. On paper, you print the question paper and answer sheet from the mock's page once the window opens, time it yourself, then upload a photo of the answer sheet, which is marked automatically.

My child is in Year 6. Is there a mock for them?

This season is for Year 5. Most 11+ tests for 2027 entry were sat in September 2026. Some schools test later in Year 6, so if your child still has a test to come, see the other mock exams.
