For tuition centres

Keep pen and paper. Mark from a photo.

Your own worksheets and books stay at the heart of your teaching. Add an answer key, print the answer sheet, and photograph completed sheets: they're marked against your key and every score is kept for the child, the class and their parents.

Your worksheets and books, in one library

Upload the PDFs you already teach from: worksheets, workbooks, homework sheets.

Kept private

Your PDFs are only open to your account and to the children you set them for. They never appear on the public site.

Filed your way

File each worksheet or book by subject, by your own level or stage, and by book number.

Set for a child or a class

Children and their parents can open and print what you've set from their own account.

Marking from a photo

From a pile of answer sheets to a full set of scores

The same answer-sheet marking Academy11+ uses for its own printed papers, pointed at your answer key.
  1. Step 1

    Add the answer key

Multiple choice (2 to 6 options) or short answers, with marks for each question. Short answers are marked forgivingly: case, spaces and units don't matter, "1/2" matches "0.5", and you can list alternatives such as "7 | seven".

  2. Step 2

    Print answer sheets

The sheet has a marking code in the corner naming the worksheet. Print one for a named child and it names them too, or print blank sheets and pick the child when you mark.

  3. Step 3

    Children work on paper

In class or at home, from your own workbook or the PDF you set. Nothing changes for them.

  4. Step 4

    Photograph the sheets

Take or upload photos on a phone or computer. Each sheet is matched to its worksheet and child by the code, read, and marked against your key.

  5. Step 5

    Check and save

Answers the reader wasn't sure of are highlighted. Correct any of them and the mark updates on the spot. Then save the scores.

Why paper and photos

Practise the way the exam is sat

Many 11+ tests are sat on paper, and many centres have workbooks that work. Photo marking keeps both and adds what paper can't: a record of every score, by child and by class, that you, your staff and parents can see.

What you need

  • The worksheet as a PDF, with its answer key typed in once
  • A printer for the answer sheets
  • A phone or computer to take or upload the photos

Scores

Every score in one place

A spreadsheet-style score grid

Pick a class and dates: children down the side, worksheets across the top. Type scores (Tab, Enter and the arrow keys move) or paste a column from a spreadsheet.

Percentages and totals

Each score shows as a percentage with colour bands, plus totals, so you can see at a glance who needs help.

Photo-marked scores included

Scores marked from photos land in the same grid as the ones you type in.

On each child's page, and for parents

A child's scores sit on their page with their level. Parents who've accepted your invitation see them on their own account.

Scores sit alongside each child's level or stage and their attendance, and the centre overview uses them to show who's falling behind.

Questions

Questions about worksheets and marking

Do we have to move our workbooks online?

No. Children keep working on paper. You upload the worksheet or book as a PDF so it has an answer key, print the answer sheet, and photograph completed sheets to mark them. You can also set the PDF for a child or class so they can open and print it at home.

Who can see the worksheets we upload?

Only your account (you and the staff you allow to manage materials) and the children you set a worksheet for, with their parents. Uploaded files are kept private and never appear on the public site.

How accurate is marking from a photo?

Each sheet is read and marked against your answer key, and any answer the reader isn't sure of is highlighted for you to check before the scores are saved. Changing an answer re-marks it straight away.

Can staff mark from photos?

Yes. Managers, tutors and assistants can mark, for the branches and classes they're given. Managing the worksheet library and answer keys is for the owner, managers and tutors.

What kinds of questions can an answer key have?

Multiple choice with 2 to 6 options (A to F), or short written answers, with up to 200 questions and your own marks for each question.
