See what your progress report looks like

This is the report you'd see for your own child, shown here for Maya, a made-up Year 5 child. It updates by itself after every paper, mock and practice round.

This is an example report with made-up data

Maya, Oakfield Grammar School, the tutor and every score below are invented to show how the report works. Your child's report is built from their own answers.

Lesson notes

  • Thu, 1 Oct 2026

    from Mr Ellis (example tutor)

    Covered:
Ratio word problems: sharing in a ratio, and working back from one share to the total.
    Went well:
Maya drew bar models without being asked and got 7 of 9 right.
    To practise:
Two short ratio rounds before next week. Read the last line of each question again before answering.

Follow-up: Ratio and Proportion practice round

  • Thu, 24 Sept 2026

    from Mr Ellis (example tutor)

    Covered:
Cube nets: which faces end up opposite each other.
    Went well:
Spotting opposite faces on the simpler nets.
    To practise:
Cut out and fold two nets at home. It really helps with picturing them.

On track for Oakfield Grammar School?

Estimated score against the school's qualifying score

Estimate
Close — within reach

Estimated 113–122Oakfield Grammar School usually needs about 121

The range crosses 121: on a good day Maya would reach it, on an off day fall just short. A few more marks per paper would make it safer.

Estimated range 113 to 122, qualifying score 121, on a scale from 69 to 141 where 100 is average.

Estimate from 6 recent papers (27 Sept 2026 – 3 Oct 2026).

Oakfield Grammar School's qualifying score for 2026 entry (11+ test) is 121 (the most recent year we have).

What moves it

  1. Give Non-Verbal Reasoning extra time

Non-Verbal Reasoning papers come out lowest — about 114, against about 120 for Verbal Reasoning (3 papers vs 3 papers, so treat these as rough). Raising the weakest subject usually moves the overall score most.

  2. Practise “Ratio and Proportion” and “Cube Nets”

“Ratio and Proportion” and “Cube Nets” are where Maya drops most marks (Ratio and Proportion: 52% right over 25 questions; Cube Nets: 50% right over 18 questions). Short "weak topics" practice rounds target exactly these.

  3. Exam technique: use halfway checkpoints

This came up in 2 of 3 timed Exam Trainer papers, and Maya ran out of time on 1. Technique can be worth several marks a paper without learning anything new.

Our own estimate from Academy11 papers, not an official GL or CEM score. Many schools also rank by score or give priority by distance, so reaching the qualifying score doesn't guarantee a place.

Not sure how to explain a topic? How to help at home: notes for every topic

How we work this out

Only Maya's own marked answers on Academy11 count: papers, mock exams (once results are out), practice rounds and the placement check. Speed games and reading-stamina passages aren't tagged by topic, so they aren't included.

For each topic we look at the last 30 answers from the last 90 days, so recent work counts most. A topic needs at least 8 of those before it gets a status.

Strong: 80% or more right. Getting there: 60–79%. Needs work: under 60%.

These are simple bands of our own, not a pass mark or a school standard, and they don't predict an exam result. Worked out 3 Oct 2026, 18:00.

Maya's pace has improved over her three timed papers: she ran out of time on the first but finished the last two, and now spends about the target time per question. The habit to keep working on is checking the clock at halfway.

To work on

  • Use halfway checkpointsin 2 of 3 papers

At the halfway mark Maya was behind the clock in 2 papers. A quick check at halfway helps her speed up before the end.

  • Move on from a stuck questionin 2 of 3 papers

A few questions took over twice the target time. Flag it, move on and come back at the end.

Going well

  • Finished the last two papers in time, with every question answered.
  • Goes back to flagged questions before handing in, and changed 3 answers from wrong to right.
