About Lisa

As an experienced school teacher and private tutor, I understand that preparing for the 11+ can feel like a big step for both children and parents. My aim is to make that journey as positive, enjoyable and reassuring as possible, whilst ensuring every child feels confident and well prepared. I offer friendly, personalised online 11+ tuition covering English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, with lessons carefully tailored to each child's abilities, learning style and the requirements of their chosen schools. My approach is warm, encouraging and supportive, but with plenty of challenge! I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and having a go. Through engaging activities, exam style questions, guided practice and gentle encouragement, I help pupils develop not only their academic skills but also the independence, reasoning and exam techniques needed for success. Having taught across different age groups and abilities, I recognise that no two children learn in quite the same way. I take time to build a genuine rapport with each pupil, celebrate their progress and identify areas where they may need a little extra support. For me, 11+ preparation isn't simply about passing an examination. It's about helping children believe in themselves, enjoy learning and approach their next educational adventure with confidence.
