What it practises
Capital letters, full stops, question and exclamation marks, commas, apostrophes and speech marks, in the GL 'find the mistake' style: each sentence is split into four sections, and your child finds the one with a mistake, or chooses 'No mistake'.
How to solve them
Read the whole sentence first, then check each section for one thing at a time: capital letters, end punctuation, apostrophes, commas and speech marks. Some sentences have no mistake at all.
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 12 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
