What it practises
Word meaning and word usage: each question uses a word in a sentence, and your child picks the word closest in meaning, or most nearly opposite, as it is used there.
How to solve them
Read the whole sentence, then try each option in place of the word in bold. The right answer keeps the sentence making sense with the same meaning (or the opposite one, if the question asks for it).
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 12 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
