Area, Perimeter and Volume
Set 105441The dashed line shows the height of the triangle. What is its area? The diagram is not drawn to scale.
What is the volume of the cuboid? The diagram is not drawn to scale.
What it practises
Area and perimeter of rectangles, triangles and parallelograms, L-shaped and U-shaped compound shapes, and the volume and surface area of cuboids. Shapes are drawn on the sheet.
How to solve them
Perimeter is the distance all the way round: add every side. Area is the space inside: length × width for a rectangle, half of base × height for a triangle. Work out missing sides before you start.
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
