What it practises
Ratio and proportion problems: simplifying ratios, sharing an amount in a ratio, finding one part from another, scaling recipes, best buys and exchange rates.
How to solve them
Add the parts of the ratio to find how many shares there are, then work out what one share is worth. For recipes and prices, find the amount for one first (the unitary method).
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
