Tips for practising at home

  • Reading every day, across fiction and non-fiction, does more than any worksheet.
  • Keep a word book of new words, and use them in conversation that week.
  • Teach your child to go back to the text for every answer rather than relying on memory.

Which 11+ tests include it

English is in most 11+ tests. Some add a writing task (for example CSSE and FSCE), so check your school's admissions page for the exact papers.

    Full-length papers of around 50 questions, timed like the real test, from easier packs to harder ones.
