What it practises
Words and their number codes. Your child matches each letter to its number, then writes the code for a new word or finds the word for a code.
How to solve them
Look for a letter that appears in both words given, and match it to the digit that appears in both codes. Write each letter above its number before you start.
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
