Two groups of three words. Your child chooses one word from each group so the two words are closest in meaning (synonyms).
How to solve them
Take each word in the first group and ask, 'Which word in the second group could replace it in a sentence?' Watch out for words that just go together, such as 'bread' and 'butter'.
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
