What it practises
Three groups of numbers. The middle number in each group is made from the outside numbers by the same rule; your child finds the rule and completes the last group.
How to solve them
Try the simplest rules first on the first group: add, subtract, multiply, then combinations such as 'add then double'. Check the rule on the second group before using it.
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
