What it practises
Word analogies: your child works out how the first two words are linked and finds the word that is linked to the third word in the same way.
How to solve them
Make a sentence that links the first pair ('a puppy is a young dog'), then use the same sentence with the third word ('a kitten is a young...').
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
