What it practises
Two pairs of words with a letter missing from the end of the first word and the start of the second. One letter must fit all four gaps.
How to solve them
Try each answer option in the first gap, then check the same letter also makes real words in the second pair. Only one letter will work in all four places.
How to use it
Print the questions and keep the answers page to one side. Allow about 15 minutes, then mark it together and talk through anything that went wrong using the explanations. Move up a level once your child gets most of them right.
